Mini Vinnies
About Our Mini Vinnies
At St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Mossley, our Mini Vinnies are a group of enthusiastic children who want to make a difference in the world by following the example of St Vincent de Paul.
They meet regularly to pray, talk, and take action to help others in need — both in our school and in the wider community.
Being a Mini Vinnie is all about putting faith into action: showing kindness, sharing hope, and living out the values of Jesus every day. Any pupil who wants to help others, work as part of a team, and make a positive difference can join the Mini Vinnies and be part of something truly special.
Aims & Objectives
Our Mini Vinnies group is inspired by the work and spirit of the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP).
- See, Think, Do – notice when others need help, reflect on how we can respond, and take positive action.
- Live out our Catholic faith through service, showing compassion, kindness, and respect for everyone we meet.
- Raise awareness of social justice issues such as poverty, loneliness, and fairness, and encourage others to make a difference.
- Take practical action to support those in need — through prayer, fundraising, volunteering, and small acts of kindness.
- Develop leadership and teamwork skills, giving children the opportunity to plan and lead projects that benefit others.
- Build a strong sense of community, helping everyone at St Joseph’s to feel valued and included.
Together, our Mini Vinnies turn concern into action and help to make St Joseph’s a place where faith, hope, and love are lived every day.
